The famous UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE Ngorongoro Crater is an ancient volcanic caldera commonly described as the “8th wonder of the world”. An astonishing concentration of wildlife lives in this lush prehistoric landscape, including the BIG FIVE. The mineral-rich floor of this spectacular park is blanketed in nutritious grasses much to the enjoyment of large herds of Zebra and Wildebeest, Buffalo, Gazelles which graze here.
The large numbers of herbivores support some of the densest populations of predators found anywhere in Africa. You’ll also find slowly growing population of the Endangered Black Rhino, often seen in open grasslands. Breeding herds of elephant pass through the Crater itself occasionally, but you will see a scattering of old bulls, including some of the biggest tuskers left alive in Africa today.
The crater known as a bird watcher’s haven is home to resident and numerous migratory birdlife spending much time in the expansive alkaline lakes. This trip requires an very early morning start due to the driving time to the park. You will pass Mto Wa Mbu village, Lake Manyara National Park and Karatu village, before arriving to astonishing panoramic views before descending down to the crater floor where your adventure begins. Enjoy lunch at the hippo pool and maximize your game viewing before heading back to Arusha / Moshi. Although short, it’s worth the drive as this highlight is not to be missed.

After breakfast you are met by our tour guide/driver, who will deliver a short safari briefing. After briefing you will be transferred to Tarangire National Park with your picnic lunch. Tarangire derived its name from the Tarangire River which crosses along the center of the park and which provide permanent water for the wildlife and birdlife of the park round the year. It is here where a large group of different species of animal concentrate during the dry season and the best place to take many pictures. Its natural vegetation mainly consists of Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. The Tarangire National Park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. Also it is in Tarangire by chance you can see the tree climbing African pythons.
Tarangire National Park accommodated migratory and resident birdlife and believed to be a paradise of birdwatchers as more that 350 different species have been recorded todate. Other wildlife that Tarangire accommodates includes the rare Oryx, impala, giraffe, zebra, lion, leopard and different types of gazelles. We will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park and do two exciting morning and afternoon game drives, along the Tarangire River. Late afternoon we depart for Moshi where we will end our safari adventure.

After breakfast you are met by our tour guide/driver, who will deliver a short safari briefing. Your drive will drive you to Arusha National Park with a jeep. Upon your arrival to Arusha National Park you can have number of activities to be done. These includes, walking safari accompanied with an armed ranger, game drive with the national park, bird watching to Momella lakes, hiking a little bit to Mount Meru which is located within the park and the second highest mountain in Tanzania after the Mount Kilimanjaro standing at 4566 m and have picnic lunch to the beautiful waterfalls of Meru.
Arusha National Park is one of the few parks offering a ranger guided walking safari. Enjoy varieties of wildlife including capped African buffalos, elephants, hippos, giraffe, warthogs, antelopes, zebras, blue monkeys, velvet monkey, colobus monkey and varieties of retiles. At the Momella lakes you will see numerous numbers of birdlife which includes the resident and migratory once. After breakfast you are met by our tour guide/driver, who will deliver a short safari briefing. You will be driving to Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive with our picnic lunch. Upon your arrival Manyara you will be welcomed by the Great Rift Valley Escarpment view and fun makers’ baboon at the entrance of Manyara in large groups. We will travel through the agricultural and fresh produce market town of Mto Wa Mbu, which is situated next to the entrance of the Lake Manyara National Park.
The town is a souvenir hunters paradise, harboring thousands souvenir salesmen – ready to pounce at your slightest invitation. The Lake Manyara National Park is one of Tanzania’s most dramatically located African wildlife areas, consisting of a massive but shallow soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park) at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment. The park’s varied habitat attracts a wide variety of animals; including one of Africa’s densely populated of herd of African elephant, famous tree-climbing lions, as well as large flocks of flamingos, attracted by the algae in the lake. We will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park and do two exciting morning and afternoon game drives, in search of the wildlife and birdlife that Manyara host along with a view of famous hot spring known as “Maji Moto”. At the base of Mount Kilimanjaro on the border between Moshi and Arusha lies one of the many homes to one of the most famous tribes in Tanzania, the nomadic Maasai who retain their original culture and practices. Lake Chala is a caldera lake formed 250,000 years ago, sitting at 8 km from Taveta, border town of Kenya, this is the deepest inland lake of Tanzania carved in ancient rock and is fed by Kilimanjaro underground water, the history is full of myths and legends including a Maasai village that disappeared into the lake. Chala is a quiet site away from the busy tourist usual attractions that will give you a sense of connection with nature. Depending on the season the color of the lake could be deep blue, turquoise or green. It offers a flora that can be exclusive to the area. The fauna includes a stunning variety of birds (200 species) with birds of prey, Colobus Monkeys, Blue Monkeys, baboons, dik-dik, kudu, pythons, monitor lizards and maybe migrant elephants.
Meet our professional naturalist guide/driver at the lodge, who will deliver a short safari info briefing, after which, we travel to the Lake Chala. You can choose any activity from a nature bush walk, canoeing on the lake, fishing or swim in the Lake. The bushwalk will last (2-4) hours depending on the pace. The walk offers scenic views with Kilimanjaro in the background, you will go down the rocky gullies formation to the water. After the walk, we can have lunch at the Lake Chala lodge with a spectacular view of the lake as well as Kilimanjaro view in the clear days. If you want to paddle in a canoe, this is a one-hour activity and if you want to go fishing it can be extended. You can find the specific Lake Chala tilapia, though you must fish and release since this is an endangered species.
